After my last experience at the terminal, I really wasn’t looking forward to our travel day today. I anticipated the typical pressing crowds, draggy luggage, and sullen agents. Perhaps it’s just those days they we are most likely to be surprised.
I read a chapter recently that challenged my perception of a typical day. It urged the reader to start the day imaging what could go right (rather than what could go wrong). It’s really tough to do, but what a great way to start a day!
Today has been that kind of day. The ride to the airport (early) with our travel friends was smooth and enjoyable. The terminal (mid weekend) was relatively quiet. The gate agents were chillin’ and willing to chit chat. And best of all, my new luggage glided along on new wheels like a well tuned pinewood derby racer (that’s a Boy Scout thing).
Stay tuned. With a start like this, I’m thinking this could be a great week. Starting in Switzerland, hanging out on a boat in Germany. Beer, brats, schnitzel. What could go right?
