Stepping onto our 7th Continent
Today was a reason to celebrate: We have both been blessed with the privilege of experiencing all 7 of this world’s continents. It was exhilarating in a way that’s hard to describe. But I’ll try. I’m learning a big lesson at this phase of my life: That is that many experiences are impossible to anticipate.…

Antarctica Day One — Hit the road!
Sailing out of Ushuaia, I don’t expect much, especially with all the emphasis on the new continent. Boy was I wrong! I could literally sail telegraph fjords of Argentina and Chile and feel it was time well spent. How beautiful! Here’s some photos:

Going south on TrueNorth.blog The image above is virtual, but starting this week I’ll be posting REAL photos from our bucket list cruise to Antarctica. Seals and penguins and whales . . . oh my! Please post a reply to let me know y’all are still out there. Thanks!

The world’s biggest air show
Never mind Carmen SanDiego . . . where in the world is Scott Chesnut this week? Well, I’m in Oshkosh Wisconsin at the biggest airshow in the world, in terms of attendees and aircraft. 608,000 attendees last year and looking like at least that this year. The on-airport RV park that we are living in…

Captain’s Log: Supplemental
Warning: If you plan to travel by airline anytime soon, be ready to flex. I heard stories of gross delays and unplanned hotel stays, but it always seemed to be “the other guy” . . . until I tried to leave the EU. My “Brexit” to London got complicated. Laura had an apparently smooth non-stop…

Day 6 EU: Last day photos from Amsterdam.
Things start to accelerate some during the last day. So, without a lot of time for writing I will instead just share some of the beautiful sights that we enjoyed today in the land of windmills. Enjoy!

Day 4 EU: Knights and castles and flowers, oh my!
Soooo, as the Alsatian wine begins to take hold, we are now cruising through “castle alley” of Germany. Something like 40-50 castles along the Rhine in a fairly short sequence of time. Of course, Sonny and I reached our quota fairly early . . . and took naps! It was also a little chilly on…

Day 3 EU: Wine, Cheese, & Airplanes
As we sail deeper into the Deutschland (Germany), we begin to encounter the finer things. Yes, and in addition to airplanes, wine and cheese as well. 😉 First, we strolled the streets of Strasbourg France (borders on Germany). In my effort to be more mindful on this trip, I slowed down and allowed myself some…

Day 2 EU: Photos from a confused country
There is a legend that in the Alsace region, you can start your day having coffee in one country, and end your day (in the same chair) having wine in a different country. Either France or Germany, but don’t worry, it changes often (historically speaking). As an example, the Battle of the Colmar Pocket from…

Day 1.5 EU: Photos from half asleep tourists
So imagine traveling for 12 hours straight (no sleep) and showing up at noon in Switzerland. Then in rapid succession: lunch, nap, shower, TOUR! This first day was kind of like seeing Europe on drugs. Rather than writing a blog “on drugs” I’ll just get out of the way and share some cool scenes from…
